Meet Trevor Mallory

Trevor Mallory grew up in St. Petersburg’s Lakewood neighborhood, where he learned that when neighbors come together, they can build opportunities and lift each other up. At an early age, Trevor showed a talent for baseball that was nurtured by his community. Neighbors provided him with lessons, encouragement, rides to practice, and the resources to pursue a career in baseball. Just before graduating high school, Trevor was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays where he played professionally for six seasons. With the Jays' spring training facility in nearby Dunedin, he was able to keep his community connections strong throughout his major league career.

After retiring from baseball, Trevor returned to St. Petersburg with the goal of investing in the community that helped make his dream of playing professional baseball possible. He launched a business focused on affordable housing rehabilitation and began giving back the way he knows best — by coaching Little League and mentoring young athletes. Trevor now lives here in St. Petersburg with his wife of 20 years and their four daughters.

Through his work in the home services industry, Trevor saw firsthand that the biggest challenge facing families in St. Petersburg was finding a home they could afford. Determined to be part of the solution, he brought together a small group of investors to build new housing, rehabilitate existing homes, and help ensure more families have a safe, stable place to live and build their futures.

Trevor went on to serve as President of Neighborhood Home Solutions, where he expanded access to free services that help families build credit, grow their savings, secure insurance, navigate the path to affordable homeownership, and help families sustain affordable housing by avoiding foreclosure so they can build generational wealth.

He has also served on the City of St. Petersburg’s Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, working to lower housing costs while preserving the character of our neighborhoods. In addition, Trevor served on the Citizen Redistricting Commission, helping ensure fair City Council districts so every voice in our community is represented.

Trevor is running for City Council because he knows that when everyone in St. Petersburg works together, we can build a city that works for everyone. We can do it by strengthening our partnerships with local businesses and non-profits to tackle immediate issues and plan for the future. We need to address issues of housing, planning and growth, environmental protection and resilience, public safety, homelessness, and mental health.

Trevor will be a city councilmember who listens to people, works hard, and does the right thing by working with everyone in our community.
